Aqua Mystica

Disciplines Sculpture

Released 2008

The quiet waterbeam.

The quiet water beam is a unique phenomenon that does not happen in the natural world. When the beam is touched its light and form are immediately set free and take on the appearance of sparks from a blowtorch. Remove the disturbance and the smooth, bundled water beam returns to its stable form.

Aqua Mystica is a groundbreaking example of a laminar current. Gerhard Zsambok has designed the sculpture to force the water to behave like oil and drop over two metres into a jar without noise.
