Spring Summer 10/11 Based on the book 'Jan Family' A group of artists working to find new ways of using objects. It led me look at the concept of thinking within a family unit. 'When our parents leave us, whta they levae behind is left in us their children' I wanted to discover how family members from the same source may think so alike but also so different, how our exteriors may decieve how similar we are. To achieve this i began an experimental process with my sister, we did several experiments completely seperatley and wokring with the same utensils, documented through diaries, film and photography the outcome led me realise how we think, the results were surprising emotional and sometimes just breath taking, the outcome led to this collection. Designed for a women who chooses to stand out with a love for the avant garde while remianing femine and soft. Worked with intrigate japanese pattern influences and alot of stand work i hope to have created a soft pieces with a strong technical base.
