Rosberg / Szatek is a collaboration between interior designer Hanna Rosberg & fine artist Therese Szatek.
For the Stockholm Furniture Fair 2010 they collaborated to create a collection of ceramic tiles, textiles and wallpapers.
The launch was held at Gallery Moln på Marken during the Stockholm Design Week.
The collection is initially inspired by Therese’s large pencil drawings but these are reinterpreted through Hanna’s design. Examples include a detail of a pencil drawing being transformed into a geometric wallpaper, a silhouette of a black trees becoming a pattern in a hand knotted rug and a freehand drawn line translated into a radius for the design of a floor light.
For the ceramic tiles, elements of different drawings have been selected and then screen printed onto the tiles to create a new decorative pattern.
The benches were designed exclusively for the exhibition and are intended to work as “frames”, whereby upholstered "additions" are then attached to display different textile designs.
The rug is hand knotted in Turkey and made using recycled yarn from old Turkish rugs to create different shades within the design.
The collection is currently available on a made to order basis, however Rosberg / Szatek also undertake bespoke commissions whereby new artwork and designs will be created in accordance with the project requirements.
