“storage unit/credenza - borrowing its appearance and imago en gros from the crude and utilitarian craftmanship to be found in shipping crates. Through an aesthetic refining treatment the usual preconceptions and associations with inexpensive particle board and shipping crates are removed and the design is sensitively elevated to something beyond just the functional. Paradoxly turned into a domestic furniture piece, any superfluous mark of assembly is removed, the wooden particle grain is turned into an elegant glossy material and the design is still hinting towards the piece’s roots.”
