Recto Verso shelf

Disciplines Architecture, Installation, Products

Released 2009

Recto verso is a wall mounted shelf constructed of 2 mm perforated sheet of anodized aluminium. The idea of bending perforated metal sheet allows shapes that are not manageable in a traditional step-by-step bending process. All the seams of a single piece are bent by hands following the assembly diagram.

Unlike an ordinary shelf, which has only one way of building, this reversible shelf can be folded in two different ways, which allows for the tilt to the right or left.

This line ‘’almost invisible’’ can be indefinitely combined to create true divided wall libraries in order to value books as a piece of art. Aluminum is also an environmentally friendly choice because it is an infinitely recyclable metal.
