ISSUE
We approached the design of a household appliance. Specifically, the design was focused on kitchen’s appliances. I designed an electric mixer.
OBJECTIVES
The objective was to improve all the perfectible sides of the product that we found on the market and that we analysed, without worsen the good aspects. The critical points we found: difficulties to stow away; troubles with the electric wire; difficulties related to disassembling and cleaning operations.
Last aspect, not considered in the products we found on the market, but judged relevant by us, is the environmental one.
RESULTS
We cannot solve stowage problems because of the size of the components. So we decided to make an object that is not intended to be stowed: it is an object that, because of its aesthetical credit, is intended to be exposed. Electric wire’s problems are eliminated by a battery, recharged with a set of photovoltaic cells that satisfy also the environmental concerns. Disassembling and cleaning are made easier by a snap-on system.
